Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often.

We know this territory can feel unfamiliar. Here are the questions families ask us most — answered plainly, without jargon.

About Our Service

We are an independent resource coordination service for older adults and their families. We help you think through aging-in-place modifications, rightsizing decisions, and connecting with vetted professionals — at no cost to you. We are not a placement agency, a real estate firm, or a home care company.

No. Our guidance, conversations, and referrals are completely free to families. We do not charge fees, accept commissions, or receive payments from the professionals we recommend. Our independence is the foundation of our value to you.

We work with adults 60 and older who are thinking about their next chapter — whether that means staying safely in their current home, exploring a move to a smaller or more manageable space, or simply wanting a trusted guide to help them understand their options. We also work with adult children who are helping a parent navigate these decisions.

How It Works

We start by listening. There is no intake form, no assessment checklist, and no agenda. We want to understand your situation, your concerns, and what matters most to you. From there, we help you see your options clearly — and only suggest next steps when you are ready.

Absolutely not. A first conversation is just a conversation. You are never obligated to take any action, accept any referral, or continue working with us. We are here when you want us and out of the way when you don't.

Simply reach out through our contact page. Tell us a little about where you are and what's on your mind. We'll schedule a time to talk — by phone or video, whichever you prefer — at a pace that works for you.

Referrals & Professionals

Every professional in our network has been personally vetted. We look for demonstrated expertise working with older adults, a track record of ethical practice, and a genuine commitment to client dignity. We speak with them directly, check references, and only include people we would trust with our own families.

No. Professionals do not pay to be part of our circle, and we do not accept advertising or sponsorships. Inclusion is based entirely on quality and fit — nothing else.

Our circle includes occupational therapists who specialize in home safety assessments, accessibility contractors, senior move managers, and elder law attorneys. We match you based on your specific situation — not a generic directory listing.

Aging in Place & Rightsizing

Aging in place means adapting your current home so it remains safe, accessible, and comfortable as your needs change — grab bars, wider doorways, better lighting, and more. Rightsizing means thoughtfully choosing a home that better fits your life right now, whether that's smaller, single-level, closer to family, or in a community with built-in support. Neither path is better than the other — the right choice depends entirely on your priorities.

Almost always, the answer is no — it is not too early. The families who feel most at peace are those who started thinking about these questions before a health event or crisis forced the conversation. Planning ahead gives you time, options, and the ability to make decisions on your own terms.

That uncertainty is exactly why we exist. Many families come to us not knowing whether to stay or move — and that's a completely reasonable place to start. We help you think through the factors that matter most to you, without pushing you toward any particular outcome.
